Welcome to Fifth Grade!
This will be my fifth year teaching fifth grade at Highland View and my twelfth year teaching. I am excited to share that last year, I achieved my National Board Teacher Certification, joining a group of less than 3% of teachers nationwide.
I live in Oak Creek with my husband and our two kids, Olivia (9) and Nolan (6). We also have a black lab, Wyla, and a cat, Zoey, who joined our family this summer! We have enjoyed a very busy summer. In June, I was able to attend the Colonial Williamsburg Teacher Institute. A few weeks, later we enjoyed a week in Disney. The day after we got back, we moved into our new house! Our days were very full right this summer, but we are loving every minute in our new home!
When I’m not teaching or planning, I love spending time with my family. During the hockey season, you’ll probably be able to find me at the UWM Panther Arena. Mr. Martens works for the Milwaukee Admirals, so the kids and I go to as many games as we can... If you happen to go, look for us!
We will have many thrilling days as we transition to fifth grade. My goal is to help students to take ownership of their learning and recognize/apply learning everywhere in their life.
If you like, you can email me [email protected].
I’m looking forward to an amazing school year!
